TUESDAY DECEMBER 18TH

the LLAMA DOLLIES

at

the OASIS

10:30pm till 1pm

58 Main St
New
Paltz, NY 12561
(
845) 255-2400

Steve Raleigh plays guitar and writes most of the songs and they are very well interpreted by Charles Frommer on sax, Martha Colby on Cello and T Xiques on drums.  This is a group worth hearing and it won’t break the eardrums.  Some serious jazz rock with some very interesting sub plots.

FRIDAY DECEMBER 21ST

MACHAN

at

 STARR PLACE

9PM TILL MIDNIGHT

6417 Montgomery St.

Rhinebeck, NY

845.876.2924

This trio is one of the most fun things I have done in years.  Machan sings like and angel, is a wonderful guitarist, and T Xiques on drums is fast becoming one of my favorite pastimes.  This evening we will be joined by special guest artist Pete Levin on piano. Machan’s new CD is doing very well and she isn’t doing many local appearances with the trio so don’t miss this opportunity to see a really special Brazilian/latin/jazz trio.  This is the first night of music for this new restaurant in Rhinebeck so come on out, share some holiday spirit and show the owners that there is interest in live music in the Hudson Valley

SATURDAY DECEMBER 29TH

JACK AND LUNA’S JAZZ CAFÉ

7:30 and 9:00 pm

3928 Main Street

Stone Ridge, New York

845-687-9794

PRESENTS

Ali Ryerson on Flute

Mike Kull on piano

Chris Bowman on drums

And naturally, myself on bass.

I have known and worked with Ali since the mid 80’s when she first decided to leave the classical world and become a jazz musician.  And, she certainly has become a jazz musician.  Her improvisational skills are truly amazing and the sound she gets on the flute is like nothing I have ever heard.  If the heavenly chorus has a flute, I’m certain it sounds like Ali.  This is going to be  a special holiday treat so come on out for some wonderful music.

NEW YEAR’S EVE

with

NINA SHELDON

at

GRIFFIN’S CORNER

8:PM

Main Street

Fleischmanns, NY

(845) 254-6300 for reservations

Nina and I will be joined by Rocco on percussion and Eric Rosen on the alto sax.  Nina is a very special pianist/vocalist who has been pleasing audiences for several decades along the entire east and west coast.  We are very privileged to have here living locally and sharing her talent with us folks in the Hudson Valley.  This promises to be a delightful, laid back new year’s celebration that we will all long remember.
